Plastering & Making Good
Specialist re-plastering that finishes every damp proofing job properly.
Damp proofing isn't finished until the walls are smooth, sound and ready to decorate. Our plastering specialists re-skim and make good after every treatment — using the right salt-retardant renders so the damp problem can't track back through your new finish.
Signs to look for
- Blown or hollow-sounding plaster after damp
- Patchy repairs left by a previous botched job
- Cracked or crumbling ceilings
- Walls left rough after a DPC injection
- A room that needs a fresh, decoration-ready surface
What causes it
After damp treatment the old contaminated plaster has to come off — it's full of hygroscopic salts that pull moisture from the air and will ruin fresh paint if left in place. Using ordinary plaster over a treated wall is one of the most common reasons a 'fixed' damp patch reappears.
How we treat it
We re-plaster with salt-retardant renovating render on treated walls, full re-skims on whole rooms, patch repairs, and new ceilings where needed. The finish is left flat, clean and ready for you to decorate once it has dried — the same standard Terry and Jacob would want in their own home.
- Re-skims & full room plastering
- Ceilings & patch repairs
- Clean, decoration-ready finish
We re-plaster and make good as part of the job, so your walls are left smooth and decoration-ready. Fresh plaster needs to dry out fully before painting — we'll advise on timings, usually a few weeks depending on conditions.
